Our candles are hand-poured with natural soy wax and a crackling wood wick to create a warm and comforting ambiance. Here are some simple tips to fully enjoy your candle and extend its lifespan.

First Use

The first burn is the most important. Let your candle burn until the wax has melted from edge to edge of the container.

For our sizes:

• 4 oz candle: approximately 1 to 2 hours

• 8 oz candle: approximately 2 to 3 hours

This step prevents tunneling and ensures an even burn for subsequent uses.

Trim Your Wick Before Each Use

Wood wicks need to be maintained to function properly.

Before each lighting:

• Gently remove the burnt part of the wick with your fingers or a wick trimmer.

• Leave about 3 to 5 mm of wick visible.

A wick that is too long can produce a high flame, smoke, or an uneven burn.

My Candle Is No Longer Crackling, Is That Normal?

Yes! If the wick is too long or accumulates carbon, the crackling sound may diminish.

Simply trim the burnt part before relighting your candle. A well-maintained wick will promote a beautiful flame and the famous crackling sound we love so much.

Condensation or Small Droplets on the Wax?

It is completely normal for a soy candle to sometimes show slight droplets or a condensation effect on its surface.

Soy wax is a natural product that reacts to variations in temperature and humidity. This does not affect the quality, fragrance, or performance of your candle in any way.

It is even often a sign that you are dealing with natural wax rather than paraffin wax.

Some Additional Tips

• Never let a candle burn for more than 4 consecutive hours.

• Keep the candle away from drafts.

• Always burn your candle on a stable, heat-resistant surface.

• Discontinue use when approximately 1 cm of wax remains at the bottom of the container.

• Keep out of reach of children and pets.

Each Petit Cactus candle is hand-poured. Slight variations in color, texture, or appearance may occur from one batch to another. This is what makes each candle unique.
